Fool and Lover

I am a fool
Swaggering without sight
You cushion with soft embraces
As I fall deeper and deeper

It all seems so natural
Just because you are there

Just because you are there
It is unnatural

The ambiguity we enjoy is
But a figment of a desired ideal

Decipher the smoke from the ashes
Before everything goes up in flames, (my flames)

I’d lay down my life for you
Like I should
But does it mean love?
I can only ponder and plod on

This uncertainty indicates already the foregone conclusion
There is no need to push, to shove, for I cannot be there

There will be light
And I will walk you to the end
And hand you over

This fool needs another
Like you need a lover
